The Ix-su adopt a defensive and supporting role in the Demon Hordes. They can often be found near allied soldiers, providing cover via a powerful anti-magic ray that nullifies any harmful incoming projectiles.
There is no known way to circumvent the anti-magic ray, except to wait for the Ix-su to drop its defenses (the ray apparently requires quite a bit of effort to maintain) before striking. During these periods, however, the Ix-su is capable of launching volleys of harmful metallic fragments, making extreme caution a requirement in dealing with these creatures.
