Supreme among all Demonkind, the Kuln rule their realms through threat and force. Their eyes product a constant stream of calcifying particles which cause petrification if introduced into a creature's nervous system. Or, in other words, their gaze turns enemies to stone.
Luckily, such a gaze attack can only be focused if the Kuln remains still. Meeting its eyes during these periods ensures a quick death. A Sorceror's Force Shield is of no use in defending against the gaze, rightly making the Kuln most feared of all of humanity's enemies.
