The Armor spell dumps a large amount of magical energy into the Sorceror's force shield. For some time thereafter, the shield is hardened against most forms of attack. Damage to it during this period is automatically reduced, but cannot be completely prevented.
The Armor dissipates after absorbing a certain amount of damage, or when the spell's duration lapses.
Much research has gone into making an Armor spell providing complete invulnerability, but problems of energy leakage and matrix alignment are not easily solved. Still, withstanding enough punishment to kill one hundred men is a popular feat among Sorcerors, making Armor one of the most widespread spells in existence.
