By creating a personal pocket of accelerated time, the Sorceror using the Quickness spell greatly increases his movement speed. The boost is short-lived, lasting only a few seconds. Therefore, the spell is not suitable for travel, but rather for escaping disagreeable situations. Overexposure to accelerated time is not advisable in any case, due to the strain it places on the caster's bodily functions.
The Quickness spell has been at the center of various Boatball controversies, with one team accusing the other of employing Sorcerors to cheat. True Sorcerors, however, know that this is simply not possible, since creating a Quickness field around another person would require massive energies beyond the reach of even the most powerful casters.
