Using the Slide spell, a Sorceror becomes "neither here nor there". By side-stepping spatial bounds, he instantly leaves his present position and reappears some distance away. Intervening objects and creatures cannot stop the Slide's effect.
Pinter the Jaded has famously claimed that Sliding straight down several thousand miles through the Earth leads one to "a place of really great happiness, tasty food, and, uh, lots of riches." Whether or not his sudden disappearance was connected to this theory is still unknown.
